Theory #1: In the 1860 Federal Census, Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana listed a Barbara, age 71 living in the household of Daniel Schwab, age 55. Barbara is believed to be Daniel's mother. In the 1870 Census, she is no longer listed.
Theory #2: That his mother was Anna Maria Unknown, b. 1871. The passenger list for immigration listed Anna, age 70 which would likely be his mother.
