Edmund was born about 1590 in England, the son of Edmund Batter and Sarah Unknown.

He died about 1685 in MA, USA.

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Sarah Unknown. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Edmund (c1590-c1685) and Jane (1609-1674).

His second wife was Sarah Verin, who he married in ABT 1630. The place has not been found. They had no known children.

His third wife is not known, but they married on 8 JUN 1670 in Salem, Essex County, MA. Their five known children were Edmond (1673-1756), Mary (1675-1749), Sarah (1679-?), Elizabeth (1680-?) and Daniel (1682-?).

Born about 1609 (deposed aged 'about fifty years" Nov 1658 & 30 Mar 1659; deposed Sep 1665 aged "about fifty-seven years;" deposed with Jeffery Massey 26 Mar 1669 "both more than sixty years of age;" deposed Jun 1670 "aged about sixty-one years;" deposed 27 Jun 1673 aged about 64; deposed 27 Jun 1673 "aged about seventy-two years;" deposed 11 Oct 1683 aged "about seventy-two years."

Merchant & maltster from Salisbury, Wiltshire, who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 on the "James" from Southampton, & settled in Salem MA. Died at Salem, 29 Jul 1685. "Cousin Dummer returns, and brings word of Mr. Batter's death this morn. He went from court, as Mr. Addington the Speaker remembers, last Thursday."

Married (1) by about 1630, Sarah Verin. Sarah was baptized ar St. Thomas, Salisbury, 17 Nov 1609, daughter of Philip & Dorcas (____) Verin (also deposed "aged about forty-eight years" on 3 Dec 1658). She died at Salem on 20 Nov. 1669.

(2) in Salem, 8 Jun 1670, Mary Gookin, daughter of Daniel Gookin. She died between 4 Jun 1702 (date of will) & 9 Mar 1702/3 (date of probate).

THOMAS ANTRUM married at St. Edmunds, Salisbury, on 24 May 1630, Jane Batter, certainly a sister of Edmund Batter. In the settlement of Obadiah Antrum's estate, the Bakers came to court to depose that Obadiah feared his "Uncle Batter would cozen his wife of all that he had."
