Mary was born in 1669 in Flushing, Queens County (Long Island) Province of New York, the daughter of Richard "The Emigrant" Stockton and Abigail Bloomfield.

She died in 1726 in Springfield, Burlington County, Province of New Jersey.

She had three marriages/partners. Her first husband was Thomas Atkensen Shinn, who she married on 6 MAR 1693 in Burlington Co. NJ. In preparation for her second marriage in late Dec. 1697, Mary made the following deed of trust to her brother, Richard Stockton Jr., and to her brother-in-law, John Shinn Jr. "Mary, widow of Thomas Shinn, Deceased, about to be married to Silas Crispin of Pennsylvania, makes a deed of trust, land and a negroe boy for the use of Thomas and Samuel Shinn, sons of said Mary, given to her by her late husband and their father, Thomas Shinn, deceased, by Will dated November 1694."

Mary married Silas Crispin of Pennsylvania between Dec 29-31, 1697 in Burlington County NJ. Silas Crispin was the second son of Rear Admiral William Crispin of the British Navy, and his wife, Rebecca Bradshaw Crispin, who married 18 September 1652 at St Dunstan's, Stepney, Middlesex, England. Rebecca was the daughter of Ralph Bradshaw and Rachel Penn. After Rebecca's death, William married again - Jane Chudleigh (c 1640-1718), in Ireland, about 1665.

Mary and Silas had 6 children together before his death in 1711. After his death, Mary and her total of 8 children moved back to Burlington County, NJ to be nearer her family.

Mary married a third time to Richard Ridgway Jr. in Burlington County NJ and they had no children together.
