William Neal “Bill” Hamilton was born on July 20, 1933, on a farm southwest of Sickles, OK, to Wilson Neal and Meda (Smith) Hamilton. He passed away on December 11, 2014, at his home south of Hydro, OK, at the age of 81.
Bill lived much of his life in the Sickles Community where he attended Sickles Schools. He married Joye Brown, August 2, 1953, at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. In 1976 they moved a few miles down the road to the Pleasant Valley Community where they continued to farm and ranch. He was baptized in 1950 in Lake Creek and remained a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church the rest of his life.
Bill took great joy in his life occupation of tilling the soil and caring for his cattle. He was a licensed private pilot and loved flying his vintage 1946 Luscombe airplane. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol at Sickles. Other hobbies were restoring antique cars and tractors, playing his guitar and harmonica, oil painting, and his favorite hobby of all was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joye Hamilton of Hydro, OK. His children, Carla Taylor and husband Michael of Lookeba,OK, Ranel Lasley and husband Dale of Eakly, OK, Angela Sanders and husband Joe of Lookeba, OK, and Kent Hamilton and wife Machelle of Weatherford, OK. His grandchildren, Joye Beth Gossen and husband Heath of Eakly, OK, Tara Fisher and husband Clayton of Okeene, OK, Klent Lasley of Eakly, OK, Joe Neal Sanders and wife Krista of Elk City, OK, DaNel Nix and husband Daryl of Eakly, OK, Sara McLoud and husband Caleb of Lookeba, OK, Jerret Sanders of Lookeba, OK, Aryn Wright and husband Sean of Oklahoma City, OK, and Krystal Hamilton of Weatherford, OK. His great-grandchildren, Gage and Zoye Gossen, Jaycee Jo Sanders, Avery and Emery Fisher with one Fisher on the way, Slate and Sawyer McLoud, Hayden Nix, and one Wright baby on the way. His brothers Garland Hamilton and wife Reta of Lookeba, OK, and Butch Hamilton and wife Margie of Anadarko, OK, as well as nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Meda Hamilton, and an infant brother.
