Joseph was born in 1795 in Buckingham County, Virginia USA, the son of Edmond Ferguson and Elizabeth "Eliza" Fuqua.
He died in 1871 in Havana, Yell County, AR, USA.
His wife was Jane Farrell Ayres. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was William Henry (1831-1910).
