Adams married well, to Susanna Boylston, from a prominent family of scientists and medical doctors, on November 23, 1734. John and Susanna had three children:

John Adams – Patriot, President, and Founding Father of the United States of America.

Peter Boylston Adams – A farmer and militia captain of Braintree, Massachusetts.

Elihu Adams – A company commander in the militia who died in the early days of the American Revolution.

Adams died in 1761, at the age of 70, and his widow Susanna later married John Hall

Susanna Adams nee Boylston was the mother of John Adams, second president of the United States. She was grandmother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth president.

Susanna Boylston was born 05 March 1708, in Brookline, Massachusetts, daughter of Peter Boylston and Ann White. She was an early-American socialite, who came from a prominent family of scientists and medical doctors. She is among the least well known of the famous Adams family, for her name appears infrequently in the large body of Adams writings.
