Note: This is not the same John Graves that lived & died in North Carolina. There were about half a dozen men with the name during this time period. US Census of 1800 for Lydia lists her as head of household, so he must have died before 1800.
John Graves was born 1737 in New Haven, Connecticut. He married Lydia, who dies 13 May 1810. He represented Walpole, New Hampshire in the State Assembly of 1781 in Vermont. He was a in Benjamin Bellow's regiment for reinforcement of Fort Ticonderoga June 1777. Was a Lieutenant in Walpole Militia in 1781. His wife admitted to church in 1771.
