Bertha Jewel "B.J." (Tyler) Bell, 92, of Conway, passed away peacefully at home on Monday (May 21, 2007). She was born February 7, 1915 in Greenbrier to the late Noah and Molly (Lindsey) Tyler.

B.J. was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Georgia Langford and Ruby Cobb, and two brothers, Elbert Tyler and Edgar Tyler. She is survived by her husband of seventy-four years, Cecil M. Bell; four sons, Jerry D. and wife Sonia, Jimmy R. and wife Brenda, all of Conway; Michael (Sandy) and wife Cindy, of Greenbrier, and John K. of Little Rock; a sister, Mildred Bailey, and a brother, John T. Tyler, both of Conway. She had six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

B.J. was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Conway, an active participant in the civic life of Conway and a long-time member of the Faulkner County Historical Society. She was instrumental in the creation of the Faulkner County Museum and the building of the blockhouse at Cadron Settlement Park. Over the years, she and Cecil founded and operated Bell Butane Gas Company, Bell's Men's Store and Holiday Inn of Conway. She lives on in the hearts of those whose lives she so profoundly touched.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23rd, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Conway, with interment at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Matthew Bell, Luke Bell, Eric Bell, Adam Bell, Christopher Bell and Brian Bell.
