Notes

Note 1

Leonard Graves (30) was born about 1806 in NC and died in Indiana.  He married Sally Luther, daughter of Jacob Luther, Jr. and Rachel Callicott, on 18 Aug. 1827 in Randolph Co., NC.  She was born about 1812 in NC.  This family was listed in the 1840 census of Montgomery Co., NC.  Leonard sold land to this brother-in-law, Joel Lucas, in 1850 in Montgomery Co., NC, then he and Sally went “West” to Indiana from Randolph Co., NC after 1850.

None of this family has yet been found in the 1850 census.  Irvin is believed to be a son because he was living with Samuel Graves in the 1860 census for Washington Twp., Cedar Co., MO, and Wilburn was living in the same township in 1870, 1880 and 1900.  All their children were born in NC.

It is believed by some that a daughter was Rachel Graves of genealogy 55, and John Franklin Graves of genealogy 30 might have been another son.  (R‑44, R‑50,R‑101, R‑208, R‑209)
