Note 1
Drewry W. Graves (22) was born 19 Nov. 1813 in NC, probably in Randolph Co., died 17 April 1883 in Plattsmouth, Cass Co., NE, and was buried in Pleasant Ridge Cem., Plattsmouth. He first married Lucinda ‑‑‑‑‑‑, possibly in 1849 or 1850. She was born 15 July 1820 in Indiana, died 4 Dec. 1863 in Plattsmouth, and was also buried in Pleasant Ridge Cem. He married second Laura A. ‑‑‑‑‑‑. She was born about 1815 in NY, and died after 1880. Drewry sold land in 1840, bought land in 1841, and had his property sold to satisfy claims against him in 1843, all in Clay Co., IN. A newspaper account in The Plattsmouth Journal, Dec. 5, 1927, concerning the death of Drewry’s eldest child, Drewry M. Graves, states that the Drewry W. Graves family came from eastern Iowa with the Mormon migration to Utah, and when the Mormons arrived at Canesville (now Council Bluffs, IA) in 1855, they stopped there for the winter. Learning that Samuel Martin, a distant relative of Drewry W. Graves’ wife, lived in Plattsmouth, the Graves family went there and settled. Drewry was listed as a brick mason and stone mason in 1860 and 1870, and as a barber in the 1880 census. (R‑201)
