Roland F. Coleman, 83, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Chad Mantooth, pastor of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Roland was born April 20, 1930, in Dalhart to Fred and Essie Coleman. He worked as a salesman his whole life and owned and operated Thompson Wholesale in Dalhart. He married LaDonna Gabbert on May 1, 1971, in Clayton, NM. Roland helped with the wrestling program and Golden Gloves in Dumas. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a 50 year member of Dalhart Masonic Lodge. Roland enjoyed flying his personal plane.

Survivors include his wife LaDonna Coleman of Amarillo; two daughters, Brenda Combs of Van and Donna King of Amarillo; a son, Kemmy Don Coleman of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Kim Michelle Allwein of Amarillo and LaJean Ellsasser and husband Kurt of Lubbock; two brothers, Charlie Joe Coleman and wife Patsy of Abilene and Clyde Ray Coleman and wife Vonni of Paris; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Temple Baptist Church, 3208 S. Van Buren St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or to Odyssey Hospice, 7201 Evans Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
