Juanita Swingler dies September 21
Juanita L. Swingler, 94, of Effingham died at 9:12 p.m Thursday, September 21, 2000, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Mrs. Swingler was born July 25, 1906, the daughter of Elbert and Molly (Keane) Gibbons. She married Adolph Swingler in 1921. He died in 1965.
She was retired from the State of Illinois Department of Welfare, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham, and was a member f Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.
Surviving are her sons, William (wife, Cora) Swingler of Wads worth. Henry (wife, Mary) Swingler of New Port Richey, Florida; sister, Geneva Miller of Effingham; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one brother and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery in Sigel. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sundayat Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service.
