He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Letha Nall, who he married on 13 JUN 1900 in Clay, Indiana. Their three known children were Macel Mellisa (1901-1991), Lucille Esther (1903-1989) and Letha Irene (1908-1985).
His second wife was Mamie Belle Wilcut, who he married on 26 APR 1917. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Mildred Louise (1917-?), John 'Jack' Austin (1922-1957), William Thomas Arthur (1924-1980), Katherine Belle (1927-?), Stella Pauline (1928-?), Gordon James (1931-?) and Glenn Ervin (1935-?).
